Each entry pairs prose with visuals and sound to reconstruct worlds that are gone… or still arriving.
The stories range from prehistoric caves to medieval halls, imperial cities, research stations at the edge of the ice, and futures that might feel uncomfortably close.
All are concerned with what it means to live alongside another mind.
Taken together, they trace a long companionship through violence, domesticity, joy, faith, play, boredom, collapse, and return.
Some will wag. Some will howl. A few may bite.
